Mountain climbing doctor Nigel Hart and Kenyan born Franceur Mukala who founded the charity Jengana with the idea "that whilst cannot change the world, it can change the world for the individuals they touch.
And there will be music from guitarist Declan McKerr.
What is TEDx?
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxBelfast, where x = independently organized TED event.
At our TEDxBelfast event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.
The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
What is TEDxBelfast?
In 2011 the first TEDxBelfast was held in the Harbour Comissioners' Office. It is part of a network of locally organised TEDx events around the world.
